Newborn photographers often encourage parents to schedule their baby’s newborn photos during the first week of life. While that first week does have a certain magic and your baby will certainly change as the days pass, there are really good reasons that lots of families miss that “newborn photo session” window.
As a top newborn photographer in Cary I am here to tell you, even if you have missed the traditional newborn photography window, it’s not too late to have beautiful photos of your baby.
Maeve’s mother contacted me for a newborn photo shoot when Maeve was almost two months old, and I have to say, I was happy to consider this a “newborn” photo session.
The main focus of all of my newborn photography is the beauty in real life. While not technically a newborn, Maeve is still a tiny baby, and we were able to incorporate all of the elements I normally would in a newborn photo session, like snuggles and cuddles, feeding, sleeping, and those tiny baby details.
Add to that, I absolutely love photographing this age! Maeve was such a giggly baby, and so full of expressions and life. She was awake and engaging for most of her photo shoot, which gave her parents so many beautiful memories in photos.
Maeve has such a sweet doggy brother!
Maeve’s parents also chose to add on a video to go with their newborn baby photos. I just love making these keepsakes to go along with the photo shoot because, as a mom of older children, I know just how special it is to look back at their past selves, hear their little voices (even before words are spoken!) and see the way they move.

Please do not worry if your baby is older than the traditional newborn photography window and you wish you had professional baby photos of your sweet little one. Those rules don’t apply to gorgeous lifestyle images like the ones I create for you.
