If you’re here, it’s quite likely that professional family photos are important to you. And you’re not alone! As a family photographer in Cary and Raleigh, I often think about how thankful I am to be in the field of family photography.
In that spirit, I thought it would be fun to put together list of some of the little things that make grateful to be a family photographer.
My 8 Favorite Things About Family Photography
1. Getting to know you and your family. It’s such a special experience to get to know so many wonderful families in Cary and Raleigh through family photography, and I treasure the friendships I make through my work. I truly care about and make the time to connect with my clients, feel so lucky to work with such special families in the Triangle area of North Carolina.
2. Every family video story session is different. Whether you choose a family video photography story session at home or an outdoors, I love that YOUR photography session will be unique to your family. Your natural interactions and connections are what we’ll capture together, and I love to deliver videos and photos that are true to you and your family.
3. Capturing your children’s personalities. Building on the last point, every child is different, too! I love to capture your children’s individual personalities and also photograph them having fun together!
4. Giving you time to just enjoy each other, play, & snuggle. Sometimes it can be difficult to make time to really be present together as a family. (I’m a mom, too. I know there’s always something to do!) But one of the things I love about being a family photographer is giving you that time to just be together - and capturing it in meaningful photos.
5. Documenting real family memories. It’s so much fun to document real family memories for you, whether during a lifestyle session at home - where you might play games you’d normally play together or bake your family’s favorite cookies - or an outdoor lifestyle family video story shoot, where we document your family’s real interactions together or your baby’s new milestones!
6. Helping to build children’s self-esteem. Research shows that displaying family photos in your home helps to build children’s self-esteem. It makes my heart happy to know that I’m helping you build the important skills of confidence and resilience in your own children.
7. Capturing growth and change. I absolutely love documenting how your family continues to grow and change from year to year. Family photos from year to year capture all those little differences (even the ones that might go unnoticed at first!) AND that common thread that runs through every year, which I find so exciting! Even you’re from out of town and we only work together once, it’s so special to capture THIS stage of your family’s life for you, forever.
8. Helping you remember how all this felt. All of this - the challenges and the joys of parenting - will change before we know it, and our babies will be grown! I love helping you hold onto how the best parts of these days feel, filled with snuggles, love, and laughter. They’re pretty great.
