After Your Photo Shoot

You’ve just had an incredibly special Newborn Photo Session or Family Video Story Session with SMA Photography, and you can’t wait to receive your images from the shoot! Here’s a peek into the process.
After your photo session - whether the focus was your newborn baby or your family together - the first thing I do is upload every image from the shoot and backup all of the images on an external drive. From there, I look at every image and cull to choose the very best images from your photo session.
My goal is to help you remember both how wonderful this time felt and the specifics that mark this stage of your baby’s and your family’s life, and so I’ll be choosing a variety of types of photos - from images that show the entire scene and the tiny details. I also love to include a variety of expressions and photos that show your baby and your children’s personalities.
From there, I edit each image individually by hand. This process can be very time intensive, but it’s the magic that helps each moment captured to shine.
When the editing stage is complete (typically about 2 weeks after your photo shoot), I upload your entire gallery of 30+ edited images and email you the link, so you’re able to view your beautiful photos and download them to your computer.
