Remember when you were a kid, and you’d drop off film canisters at the drug store?
Maybe the photos were from your family vacation. Or maybe you took them one day when you and your friends had nothing to do, but entertain each other by hamming it up for the camera.
Your stomach would twist with anticipation on pick up day. You’d open that envelope right there at the counter and flip through each image - laughing at funny hair, rolling your eyes over the bunny ears your brother gave you, and checking that, yes, that one you really wanted to turn out, did.
Once you got home, you’d pull them out, again, and stick your favorites in a photo album. You could spend hours pouring over your albums, getting lost in memories, with your sister at your side.
And even better?
When you found those photos years later, you’d notice details that seemed so insignificant at the time, but were just the ticket to bring back forgotten times and big emotions.
Of course, with cameras on our phones, those days are pretty much over for most of us.
It’s so easy to snap a quick photo of that cute thing your little one just did or that cool thing you just saw, then share it on Facebook and Instagram.
And that’s completely awesome, in so many ways.
But it’s also a problem.
In the shiny immediacy of our digital world, we lose the most important part of our photos – the ability rediscover and relive our memories in the future.
Seriously, ask yourself – How often do you sit down and sift through the photos on your computer? Or spend time reminiscing in the photo folder on your phone?
How often do your children look back at photos from your last family vacation? Do they only see images of their baby days through TimeHop?
I’m going to be totally honest with you, here.
Most of us will forget to back up our phone and to copy our photo folders.
Most of us will shove our CDs and USBs to the back of the drawer.
And for those of us that are good about organizing and saving our digital photos? Eventually our computers will be too advanced for the current files, and we’ll give up. (Remember those dusty boxes of slides from the 70s and 80s? Yeah, I don’t, either.)
But you want your photos.
You want to relive those memories – both big and little – and to pass those photos down to your kids and grandkids, one day.
The truth is, the only SURE way to do that, is to print your photos, in the same way we printed our film, all those years ago.
I get it. It’s SO overwhelming.
I’m right there with you with thousands of photos on my hard drive and daily “Storage Almost Full” warnings on my iPhone.
That’s why I’ve created a FREE 3 Day Print Challenge to help us both get those photos off our phones and into our – and our kids’ – hands, in just 30 minutes a day.
Start date: Monday, June 20.
How it works: You'll get an email from me with 4 simple steps to take, each day of the challenge, along with tips for completing them quickly. Over the course of the 3 days, I'll give you the tools to organize your photos, sort them, and print them, so that you’ll have those memories in your hands to relive and enjoy with your family, now, and in the years to come.
Time involved: Just three focused 30 minute blocks of time. And, although you can certainly follow the steps whenever your schedule allows, completing the challenge by June 27th, 2016 at 11:59 MST earns you the chance to win a FREE 8x8 album from Shutterfly – a $29.99 value!
Cost: This workshop is completely free. You'll have the steps to completing the challenge in both email and PDF forms for as long as you choose to keep them! Your photo printing cost will depend on where you choose to print your photos and how many photos you choose to print. (Unless you're the lucky winner of the FREE album from Shutterfly, of course!) I'll walk you through some of my favorite choices for printing during the challenge, so that you can choose the one that's best for you!
Join me in the challenge! Together, we’re going to save our favorite memories and share them with the ones we love most by getting them off our phones and into our hands.
This FREE 3 Day Print Challenge is your ticket to rediscovering forgotten times and reliving the moments you want to hold onto – now and for years to come.
See you there!
