4 Ways to Make Your Summer Photos Wow-Worthy!

Albuquerque Family Photographer Summer Photos

Ready or not, summer is starting up in just a couple weeks! Between trips to the zoo, swimming at the pool, backyard barbecues, and family get-aways, you’re going to be taking LOTS of photos of your kids over the next few months!

But if your kids are anything like mine, they have limited patience for selfies or smiling at the camera – especially when they could be having running around having FUN, instead!

Whether you’re using your phone or a digital camera, switch up your photo routine with these simple tips to make your summer photos extra special this year.

4 Ways to Make Your Summer Photos Wow-Worthy!

1. Get Down on Their Level – Most of us stand when we take photos of our kids, but when you can get down on their level – whether that’s leaning down or even lying on the floor – you’ll be pulled into the photo every time you look at it, and your child’s experience will stand out that much more!

2. Look Up – So often we see our little ones, as just that - little! Using your camera to “lookup” at your children can bring out what a big kids they’re becoming and celebrate the things they can do for themselves!

3. Peek Over Their Shoulder – I love this angle for bringing us into their world. It’s perfect for showing their favorite ice cream treat, the art project they’re creating, or a map of the zoo - from their perspective!

4. Bird’s-Eye View – Sometimes this angle requires a little acrobatics on your part, but it’s such a fun way to show the scene, in a way few people think about! You can show the entire room, or just a small part – like your sleeping baby, a splash in the water, or your child playing at your feet!
